About the Role
Share is looking for a motivated Network Operation Engineer who can independently monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network operations during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling incidents, identifying network issues, and contributing to automation projects instead of simply responding to alerts.
You will work alongside experienced network engineers while improving network performance, documenting incidents, and ensuring reliable network availability.
Key Responsibilities
As a Network Operation Engineer, your responsibilities include:
- Monitor network infrastructure using tools like Zabbix, Grafana, and telemetry dashboards.
- Detect network abnormalities such as latency issues, BGP failures, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity problems.
- Investigate alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve network issues independently whenever possible.
- Escalate critical issues to senior engineers with detailed incident reports.
- Perform proactive health checks across routing, peering sessions, and network capacity.
- Maintain accurate documentation and update network configuration records.
- Develop automation scripts using Python or Bash to eliminate repetitive operational tasks.
- Work with Git-based configuration management and automation workflows.
- Participate in configuration reviews and network improvement initiatives.
- Prepare clear handover reports for the next engineering shift.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP
- Routing and Switching
- IP Addressing & Subnetting
- DNS, DHCP & NAT
- BGP fundamentals
- Linux command line
- Network device CLI
- Git version control
- Basic scripting using Python or Bash
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Good written communication in English
- Ability to work independently under pressure
