About the Role
BlackRock’s High-Grade Middle Office (HGMO) team is looking for an Analyst to support its rapidly growing private investment-grade platform. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing operational activities, performing reconciliations, resolving trade-related issues, and supporting the complete trade lifecycle.
This is the first HPS Middle Office hire in Mumbai, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to building the team’s presence while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Analyst, Middle Office, you will:
- Research and resolve cash reconciliation breaks with custodians.
- Investigate and resolve position differences across custodians, administrators, clients, and internal systems.
- Perform daily reconciliations between HPS and BlackRock accounting systems.
- Support loan and security administration by tracking delayed fundings, coupon payments, maturities, contracts, and factor payments.
- Identify and resolve transactional and accrual discrepancies.
- Provide operational support throughout the complete trade lifecycle for various financial products.
- Coordinate daily with custodians regarding cash applications and amortization schedules.
- Prepare purchaser schedules for private placement transactions.
- Assist internal and external auditors with position confirmations and related support.
- Work closely with Front Office, Fund Accounting, Administrators, SMA clients, and other internal teams to resolve operational issues.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for positions, cash, management fees, and assets under management (AUM).
- Reconcile statutory accounting transactions and investment returns.
- Support cross-currency swap accounting and cash flow reconciliation.
- Collaborate with technology teams on automation initiatives and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Assist with additional operational activities to support business objectives.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Graduate / Engineering / Post Graduate qualification.
- Freshers or candidates with 1–3 years of experience in Middle Office or Operations are eligible to apply.
- Accounting experience will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
- Good understanding of fixed income securities, private placements, and financial markets.
- Knowledge of trading and settlement processes.
- Experience with security creation and maintenance in security master systems.
- Understanding of lifecycle events such as coupons, factors, amendments, tenders, and maturities.
- Knowledge of cash and position reconciliation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Advanced formulas
- Data analysis
- Strong Outlook and email management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Salary
The salary package will be as per BlackRock’s company standards and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
