About the Role
As an Executive – IT Auditor, you will be a part of Cognizant’s Global Internal Audit team, supporting IT and Cybersecurity audit engagements across various business functions. The role offers exposure to audit, SOX compliance, cyber risk assessments, and advisory projects while helping strengthen the organization’s internal control environment.
You will collaborate with audit managers, technology teams, and business stakeholders to improve governance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Engagement Manager in preparing audit plans and testing procedures.
- Execute IT and Cybersecurity audit engagements according to the company’s audit methodology.
- Review IT systems, business processes, and internal controls to identify potential risks.
- Support cyber risk assessments and evaluate security controls.
- Maintain accurate and complete audit documentation and work papers.
- Analyze audit observations and recommend practical remediation measures.
- Track Management Action Plans (MAPs) and assist process owners in closing audit findings.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across different business units.
- Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and project status updates.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge through training and professional certifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Graduate/Postgraduate candidates are also eligible).
- 1–4 years of experience in IT Audit, Cybersecurity Audit, or Internal Audit.
- Knowledge of:
- IIA International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF)
- Internal Audit methodologies
- Risk Management Frameworks (COSO)
- COBIT
- ISO Standards
- NIST Framework
- Understanding of risk-based auditing and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- High ethical standards, ownership mindset, and commitment to continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
The following certifications and skills will be an added advantage:
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- Familiarity with IT audit tools and automation.
- Experience working with Big 4 firms or Internal Audit functions.
- Strong leadership potential and stakeholder management skills.
